Kyriakos Bampasidis was born in Komotini, 1970.

He studied at the Law School of Democritus University of Thrace, where he obtained his Law Degree. After succeeding his exercising as candidate solicitor in Komotini Law Bar Association, he continued with postgraduate studies at the University of Hull-U.K, at the Law Faculty, Departement of Social Policy and Sociology and Criminology, where he obtained his Postgraduate Certificate in Research Training and his Master’s of Arts in Criminology. His Master’s dissertation was titled “Juvenile Delinquency and Control Theory”. With his thesis on “The Political and Cultural Dynamics of University Asylum in Greece” he became Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Hull in Social Policy and Criminology.

He is practicing Barrister, member of Komotini Law Bar Association. He is active member of the International Bar Association serving on Human Rights and Criminal Law Committees. He is member of the British and the Greek Society of Criminology and member of the Greek Society of Social Policy. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the scientific club “Modern Society” located in Komotini.

He was teaching criminology, victimology and sociology at the Departure of Social Administration of Democritus University of Thrace, and the Police Academy of Athens and Komotini.

He used to be Legal Controller of the Hellenic Privacy and Data Protection Authority.

He used to be member of the Board of Directors of Defence Analyses Institute, member of the Scientific Board of Defence Analyses Institute (Ministry of National Defence), and member of the Board of Directors of "Epanodos" the specific authority of the Ministry of Justice, dealing with former prisoners and prisoners released.

He is writer of three books: one in Greek language about “The University Asylum in Greece” and two in English language titled “Juvenile Delinquency” and “International Legal Protection of Asylum”.

Since his postgraduate studies he has been published several articles and papers about criminology, victimology, criminal law, international law of asylum, international humanitarian law.
